Making Toys Come Alive! -Activity 2

Heya! Here's our Christmas toy, My Favourite Christmas Present! The first photo (61.9 KB) shows a Christmas present. There is a knob at the side of the box. When you turn the knob, an angel will pop out of the box, with the help of a snail cam, and after a full rotation, it drops back into the box.

The initial position of the tree's hands are lowered. Due to the eccentric cam, the tree's hand will move up & down continuously, along with the banner.

Initially, the reindeer is behind the Christmas tree. When the cam is turned, the reindeer will appear from behind the Christmas tree. A snail cam can be used. As the snail cam continues turning, the reindeer will go back behind the Christmas tree.

The fire behind the logs will remain there unchanged at the start. The flames of the fire will constantly move up and down when the handle is turned. Eccentric cam can be used.

In this design, a boy is throwing a snowball at a snowman, who will duck behind a wall to dodge it. A pear-shaped cam is used to make the boy's arm move as he is throwing the snowball. A snail cam is used to make the snowman rise up, then drop.

Initially,the tree without the stars was on top.then the tree with the
stars came on top and the one without the stars went down.The Santa
Clause did not move.

Position 1 shows bushes with the word Merry Christmas. As the cam turns, the Santa Claus would gradually appear out of the bushes until the Santa Claus is at position 2. It would suddenly fall back down to position 1 after the cam makes one complete turn. A snail cam is used in this design.
